Built to protect human intent.

Hyperion Inc. is a Tokyo-based technology company. We build technology that verifies the account holder’s intent behind high-risk digital actions.

01

Company overview

Hyperion Inc. (ハイペリオン株式会社) is a Japanese technology company founded in May 2023. We build PassProof, which verifies that the person who appears to have issued a critical instruction — a transfer, an account change, a privilege grant — actually intended it.

Our technology draws on our inventor’s experience scaling national payment infrastructure and more than a decade of research and development. It works inside existing banking, enterprise, public-sector and industrial systems.

02

Beyond authentication. Protecting human intent.

Mission

Make it practical to verify that critical actions reflect the holder’s real intent — without sacrificing usability.

Vision

A Digital Trust Infrastructure in which people, registered devices, transactional intent and delegated authority are each verifiable.

03

Two leaders. Business and technology.

Hyperion is jointly led by two Representative Directors, each accountable for one of the two disciplines the company depends on.

Representative Director · Management & Business Development

Dwight Paul Lam

ドワイト・ポール・ラム

Leads the company’s management and commercial agenda: strategy, business development with financial institutions and large enterprises, partnerships, capital strategy, corporate governance and international expansion. Based in Japan, he has spent many years working with Japanese and international enterprises and financial institutions, in Japanese and English, and brings that experience to taking PassProof to market.

Representative Director · Technology & Invention

Noboru Hishinuma

菱沼 昇

Leads technology and research. As secretary-general of the Japan Multi-Payment Network Promotion Council, he worked to expand the adoption of Pay-easy, Japan’s electronic payment service for taxes and public utility bills. The fraud risks he encountered in that national infrastructure led to more than ten years of research and development and to the technology underlying PassProof. Inventor of Japanese Patents No. 6408745 and No. 7007501.

  • Technology strategy & R&D
  • Invention & intellectual property
  • National payment-infrastructure experience

Commercial judgment. Engineering depth.

One perspective is grounded in the operational realities of banks and large enterprises. The other comes from first-hand experience of fraud risk inside national infrastructure. Together, they keep our technology rooted in real operations — and our proposals backed by real engineering.

Message

Signing in is not the same as consenting.

Digitalization has made it possible to move money, sign contracts and complete public procedures anytime, anywhere. But our ability to confirm that each of those actions reflects the person’s real intent has not kept pace with that convenience.

Most systems verify the user once, at sign-in, and trust everything that follows. When credentials leak or a session is hijacked, fraudulent instructions are processed as legitimate ones. The answer is not to make every step harder. It is to confirm intent at the moments that genuinely matter.

We bring together experience in business development and experience in building national payment infrastructure to address this problem. As AI agents begin to act on people’s behalf, the question of who authorized what — and how far — will only become more important.

We intend to earn the trust of financial institutions, enterprises and governments through verifiable technology and candid explanation, not exaggeration.

Forged in national payment infrastructure.

Pay-easy lets people in Japan pay taxes and utility bills through ATMs and online banking. Driving its adoption, our inventor saw first-hand the fraud risk behind highly convenient payment channels.
